Every origin has a story worth loving. But what does it take for its coffee to stand out?

The Global Coffee Awards (GCA) recognize the world’s best coffee roasters and the producers behind their coffees at an international level. They celebrate roasting excellence, highlight diversity in coffee, build meaningful connections, drive businesses, honor all producers equally, and elevate roasters from coffee-producing countries. With numerous roasters submitting their best coffees from around the world for recognition across various categories and subcategories, it is safe to say that winning even one award from the GCA could be a long shot.

But Curve Coffee Collaborators proved that to be wrong.

Over the past two years, we have submitted coffees from our wide range of award-winning collection to the Global Coffee Awards. This includes both locally produced specialty coffee and Philippine-roasted competition coffees from renowned farms in different coffee-producing regions all over the world. The results were astounding; we were not only awarded one, but multiple top titles for the past two years, cementing that our coffees and roasting excellence are world-class and truly something to be proud of.

Curve Taking the Center Stage

We first tried joining the Global Coffee Awards in 2025 and gratefully took home three major titles for different categories. These include:

  • Overall National Winner – Philippines – We were recognized as the best roaster representing the Philippines on the global stage.

  • Silver | Filter - Robusta (Reyjohn Basco Natural from Sultan Kudarat, Philippines) – This win provided early proof that meticulously processed Philippine Robusta can compete at an elite global level.

  • Honorable Mention | Filter (Rodyio Tacdoy Natural from La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines) – This award spotlighted the exceptional, fruit-forward potential of traditional Philippine Arabica varieties.

Returning to the global stage in 2026, we were honored to be named the Overall National Winner—Philippines for the second consecutive year. We roasted exceptional coffees sourced from the Philippines and international origins, including Colombia, showing the wide range of coffee origins we have in our arsenal. This milestone firmly establishes Curve as a credible and excellent roaster and leading force in the movement, proving that our uncompromising quality and roasting standards are pushing the boundaries of what a coffee roaster and brand can achieve.

Overall, we were awarded the following:

With these under our belt, we are hit with overwhelming gratitude, a sense of relief, and a wave of inspiration to move forward and do more. We would not have achieved this without our incredible partner farmers, both locally and from all over the world, who continue to strive and produce amazing coffee for us all. And with this, we were once again reminded why we do what we do.

Honoring the People Behind the Cup

These accolades mean so much more than recognition. It is a symbol of commitment. A promise to do even better and become more intentional about what we do, not only as coffee roasters, but also as a brand that champions every piece of the puzzle: from the farmers, processors, buyers, roasters, retailers, and cafes, to the consumers. We see this as a powerful win, a concrete validation of our core advocacies at Curve.

Way back, we made it our responsibility to be good stewards of the coffee industry. Under our #ResponsibleCoffee movement, we have taken initiatives to not only give back, but also offer valuable aid to the coffee value chain, especially our farmers. For example, partnering directly with local growers like Reyjohn Basco or Rodyio Tacdoy ensures that when our coffees command global recognition and demand, the farming communities behind them share in that victory through sustainable, elevated livelihoods. This goes to show that ethical sourcing and commercial success can, and should, go hand in hand.

Meanwhile, we celebrate and honor single-origin coffees in the Philippines and from all over the world through our Love Your Origin principle. Aside from discovering new coffee origins and sourcing directly from producers, we bring consumers closer to the origins of the coffee they know and love by sharing the stories of how their favorite beans came to be. It’s all about honoring the full identity and journey of the coffee, and making sure the end consumer fully appreciates it.

When coffee is produced, processed, and handled with this level of purpose and transparency, every cup becomes a testament to its roots. This belief is what sits at the heart of our passion for single-origin beans, because understanding where your coffee comes from completely changes how you experience it.

Why Single Origin Coffees Matter

When we choose to learn exactly where our coffee comes from, our relationship with our morning brew shifts. We stop seeing it as just a drink, and we start seeing all the passion, hard work, and love poured into the cup. We see the relentless efforts and dedication to quality, and the importance of keeping the art of coffee alive.

Choosing single-origin coffee is a passport to explore a distinct piece of the world and taste what makes its terroir unique. But more than that, it is a conscious vote of support for the farmers, producers, roasters, and communities who poured their life's work into making your favorite coffees possible.
